Where in Colorado?

Planning a trip to Colorado soon and I can't wait to spend a couple of days out on the water fishing from a boat. I'm not really into fly fishing so I'm looking for some great spots where I can use my spinners and old bait. I'd love to catch some trout, but honestly, I'm open to reeling in whatever bites.

So, does anyone have any recommendations for lakes or reservoirs in Colorado that are perfect for this kind of fishing? Would really appreciate any tips you might have.

Hard to go wrong with the Grand Mesa depending on the boat. Prepare for mosquitos. Lower in elevation I like the Vega and Crawford reservoirs.

Steamboat lake for big trout! Artificial bait only I believe but all you need for trolling is crawdad lures. If you don’t catch trout there trolling mud bugs, set up traps and eat crayfish for dinner!
I see people fly fishing from belly boats that do extremely well, water is too cold for me this time of year but fall is the best time to fish for fat trout. Good luck wherever you go.
