Did some basic cleaning and function checks today, then ended up browsing parts online longer than I planned. That hobby rabbit hole is real.

Not much today, I just checked zero on an optic that’s been riding on a new mount and ran a quick function check while I had it out. Everything’s still holding where it should, no surprises.

After last Saturday’s match, I stripped and cleaned everything. I found some carbon buildup I didn’t expect. Good thing I checked before heading back to the range.

I took mine apart to clean it and ended up just staring at the trigger group for about twenty minutes. Then I put it back together and called it a day.

I had replaced the barrel in a 45 auto 1911 recently and after putting a couple hundred rounds wanted to clean the barrel to check fouling build up. It took several days of patching, scrubbing, and letting the solvent soak to get the buildup out. Some of it was copper but there was some heavy buildup near the throat. I put it back together this morning and will proceed to fire some more ammo through it.
