Thinking about ramen in the prep stash. Sure, it’s not super nutritious, but it’s cheap, filling, and lasts ages! I’ve got a few cases put away, but how long do they really last after the date? Anyone got tips on better storage than just keeping the packs in the box? Do you guys rotate ramen often or have tricks to spice it up for long-term use? Seems like they stick around longer than expected!

Yes, definitely rotate out the ramem.
The oil in noodles gets bad. I had to throw away a bunch because of old oil.

The same goes with any kind of taco shell or tortilla shell that is hard shelled.
I do not know about the soft shelled.

I'm not much of a prepper, I do have some emergency rations in buckets and a well stocked pantry. We (wife and I) could probably go 6-8 months, and I'm trying to get to 1 year, as long as we have power. My goal is to get to 1 year without counting what's in the freezer.

That said I wouldn't keep ramen as a staple. It's pretty empty on calories, highly processed, and won't fuel you very well. Yes, it will go bad as stated. I don't even find it that filling unless I add alot of protein into it. I'd skip it as a survival food and store lentils and dry beans in its place.
