Dawn shooting showed me exactly why quality optics matter

I used to think all red dots were basically the same, then I looked through a quality tube at dawn....Clarity and brightness settings aren't marketing, they're the difference between a usable sight and a great one.

When it comes to low light, good glass truly earns its keep. Cheap optics turn grey and washed out just when animals are most active, which is frustrating.

I had that exact moment during a low-light training session. My cheap red dot started to bloom, just washing everything out. When I swapped it for something with better glass, it felt almost like I was cheating.. the difference was so clear.

I learned while in Germany that hunting - really, shooting - from a hochsitz (high seat) overlooking your hunting reserve at dawn or dusk is very common. That's why Germans use super-quality optics like Zeiss, with objective lenses damn ear as big as dinner plates. My elk rifle has a Leupold, but I have several pair of Zeiss binos, some I got for way lower prices from the original offering, on ebay.
