Hello from Grand Junction

Hey all, I’m from GJ. Mostly unsuccessful elk hunter and somewhat successful trout fisherman. Grew up in the Denver metro area and came out west after college. Since then the western slope has been home, even though we moved away for a couple of years for my job. My job gives me the chance to spend a lot of time outdoors in places like the Grand Mesa and the Uncompaghre Plateau. Happy to be here.

Sounds like your in my neck of the woods although I have to admit, I hate going to Grand Junction. It's a necessary evil as I live about an hour away above Molina. Don't think your alone when it comes to being unsuccessful when it comes to elk. Our former DOW, now Parks and Wildlife has lots their grip on game management these days. I still get private land cow tags every year but I mostly eat the tags with a little gravy. Hopefully you get into them this year, anymore, I get just as much enjoyment chasing blue grouse!

If I lived up in your neck of the woods I'd want to stay out of the Grand Valley also. The Plateau Valley area is really cool.
