My cousin is letting go of some guns that he’s had in his collection for a while. I’m tempted to buy one or two, but I’d appreciate any tips on what I should check out before I decide.
 
I would check how tight it locks up, the timing, how the inside of the barrel looks and ask how many rounds have been fired if he knows. If you can, take a light and look inside the barrel well
 
I look at the timing, lockup, bore and if it looks like someone tried to work on it without knowing what they're doing. Normal wear is okay but I don’t want something that someone has messed with. If something feels wrong when you cycle it, trust your gut.
