I thought this was the command model until I finally noticed the guardian II on the side of handle.
Eyes getting worse lol.

I can still remember the first time I got my hands on a Guardian II, mistakenly thinking it was a Command model too. The profiles are so similar that it’s easy to confuse them unless you spot the markings. I really appreciate that about the older Gerbers since they’re tough, and designed for actual use, not just for show. I’m personally a fan of the Mark II and Guardian series when it comes to vintage Gerbers. They have that Cold War-era tactical feel while still being practical for real-world use.

I love the older Gerbers too. I have an original LMF that I bought at GI Joe's in Anchorage back in the early 90's... I had seen a KA-BAR in the display the previous day, and came in the next day to pick it up but it was gone and in it's place was the Gerber for the same price ($35.) It's the OG model with the foam grip, which had been painted OD green along with the sheath. I still carry it on my belt in the woods to this day.
