What’s your go-to revolver for everyday carry and why? I’d love to hear insights from those who regularly utilize wheelguns in real-world scenarios on what they find most effective.

Since the first half of my LE career was with revolvers I have a fond relationship with them. My favorite carry revolver is a S&W M-66 3" (one of the first run) loaded with Federal 125 JHP magnums. When I used to hunt my carry was a Model 57 4" loaded with Federal Castcore solids.

I normally carry an S&W 640-1 in a Lobo Leathers offset clip IWB. The one on the left (black stocks), with holster on the right.

I usually carry a S&W 642 with me most days. It's so lightweight that I often forget I even have it on me. There are no safeties to deal with, and I’ve never had it malfunction on me. The J-frame size really does disappear when it’s in my ankle holster or pocket, which is great for carrying it every day.

The downside is the capacity. You only get 5rds, and thats it. Reloading takes a bit longer compared to switching out a mag. But honestly, for a defensive gun, I think it’s more than enough since you’re probably only going to fire 2 or 3rds at most in a real situation. For me, the simplicity and ease of concealment totally make it worth it.

I've got a Taurus 856 Defender in .38 Special that I really enjoy. It has a 3" barrel, which I find strikes a nice balance between accuracy and speed without making it a hassle to carry around. Plus, having that extra round compared to a typical 5-shot snub makes a difference for me. The grip feels really comfortable in my hand too. I’ve found it to be super reliable, easy to keep up with maintenance, and it fits perfectly in my IWB holster.
