Hello, This is Jim near Pueblo.
I don't do much hunting anymore but I do enjoy plinking and handloading.
I would like to find a place to target practice for free without driving 50 miles.

A free gun range? I think that might be a gem to find - sure places around but you might have to make friends with some folks that have some serious amount of land.

Yeah, my last "friend with land" has been taken down by Alzheimers
Now my two closest free ranges are either 50 or 100 miles away.
And my closest pay range has now raised there prices to 15 per hr - that makes 30 per hr when my wife and I both go. That adds up fast.

I don't know how far you are from Ft. Carson. This range is pretty reasonable. Rates are for all day. There is always an RO at each set of bays. Highly recommend Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex!

I have never been to that one. It is about 45 miles for me and their prices look very reasonable.
I will give it a try.
